About the Artist
Ella Larson is a writer and story illustrator who likes the weird, creepy, funny, and strangely beautiful. She makes largely traditional, carefully detailed, and often fantastical illustrations, and her stories focus on characters, play with convention, and sometimes explore dark corners of the imagination. While she aspires to be a published author/illustrator in her own right, her work has been featured in Body: An Anthology, Rex Appeal(2), and Bones Rock! (Second Edition), and she has worked with theatre as an actor, props designer, and director. Her game Welcome to Moonlit Grove features many of her interests: odd characters, terrible puns, challenged archetypes, and mysteries. While she loves art for art’s sake, she hopes to use it to promote kindness and social justice.

She loves surprisingly-progressive 19th-century novels, dragons, convoluted magic systems, scientifically-accurate sci-fi, pasta, and Shakespearean wordplay. She is currently studying for her illustration MFA at Syracuse University.

*Note: I realized after working on branding and purchasing the new domain that the name is somewhat similar to Bookshops and Bonedust, a series I've been meaning to read for a while -- this website is NOT affiliated with the IP or the author in any way! But the books do look charming.
